Thriving on solitude is a learned skill. It takes most people time to get used to. Some never do and desperately jump between relationships. This is just my personal observations.

Most likely they are voting out of fear for the other side. They are told that the other party is scary and that they will eat their children. They are insulated and won’t hear you.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Who needs stable, feature-rich desktops anyway
363·7 months agoI have one PC on gnome and another on kde. I like them both for what they are. I lean towards gnome though. Looks nice, feels nice. I don’t find myself needing more functionality than what is there. I tried mimicing gnome in kde, for fun. Didn’t quite get there. I appreciate simplicity where possible.

Linux@lemmy.ml•[anecdote] You learn something new every day with linux
4·7 months agoIt is possible that you are running the windows version. You can find out in properties of the game. If the ‘force compatability tool’ is checked, under compatability, it will download the windowns version and run it through compatability layers. Otherwise you might have just seen the dialog about precompiling shaders.
Worth noting that sometimes developers make a linux version of their game, but neglects maintaining it. In those cases it is preferable to just run the windows version with comp layers. I think the linux native valheim version is alright though. Good devs.

9·7 months agoValheim runs natively on linux. No need to install compatability layers. Can also probably use steams screenshot button or whatever your desktop enviroment uses.

2·7 months agoJellyfin on arch behind nginx. I connect with VPN, through NAT or on the local network. What else to say? I have noticed that syncplay is significantly more reliable through nginx. Not sure why that is. But it is still fragile. I’ve had this issue unresolved so long that I am just living with it. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, then i don’t use it.
Clients: firefox, jellyfin client, chrome, android client. The issue is pretty consistent across them all.
I mostly keep 8bit AVC/ACC, 2-channel mp4s. Some h265 as well. I have not noticed a pattern. Syncplay seem agnostic to encodings and filetypes.
I get the feeling that i am far from alone on this issue. There are threads out there.
