A pair of authorised officers were watching, and then proceeded to fine me, saying there is a sign on the door saying ‘coins only’.

USB-A to USB-A cables do exist.

I have seen many (very cheap) peripherals use USB-A sockets. I figure those sockets must be a few cents cheaper than alternatives.
