  • Fuck Telus. I switched to Shaw as one does when their promo is up and those shitstains have called me a few times a week since I switched to try and offer me deals to come back. Every time I say no, please remove me from your list and every fucking time they call back.

I usually switch between to get the cheapest deals without any hassle but if they keep this shit up I might put some effort into staying with Shaw if they’ll be reasonable on the price.

  • Story time?

I work up north where it’s cold as fuck, company flys me in and out. On one travel day heading home somebody at air Canada forgot to plug the plane in after it’s final flight from the day before. I guess with what was drawing power and the frigid temperatures the battery(s) were no longer good to go for my flight. So their plan was to send a mechanic up from Vancouver with new battery(s) and get us in our way. They got halfway to us and realized they didn’t put the replacement battery(s) on the flight. So they had to turn around and get them and come back up. This caused me to miss my connection and the next one they could get me on was the next day. I submitted a claim since everything was 100% within their control. They denied it. So I replied to them with everything that happened, and told them to pay up or I was submitting a a claim with the CTA. They sent me a direct deposit for $1000 and and apology.

Fair point. From the research paper itself his standards for studies he cited were:

    1. Reporting original research findings
    2. Advocating for safe supply
    3. Appearing in peer reviewed journals

From a CBC article another commenter here posted, the BCCSU’s issues with his paper are as follows: “Its conclusion is not based on existing evidence; It does not accurately describe safer supply interventions; It does not accurately portray the preferences of people who use drugs; It mischaracterizes the research expertise of those currently evaluating safer supply; Recommendations that go beyond safe supply are not based on scientific evidence”

Then, from the original posted article: “The letter’s signatories (the matrix) didn’t mention that they were the authors of the papers we reviewed or that they received funding linked to PSAD.”

Unfortunately it gets political and enters a grey area of “yes that’s my data and no it doesn’t currently support this but you’re not interpreting it the way I did and my way is right”

Apologies for the wall of text

Yes. I’ll take the word of the man with a doctorate studying the topic at hand putting his reputation on the line versus an anonymous source saying they’re wrong. Or can we only trust the ones whose views aline with our own regardless of substance?
