What? The whole charm of the IT crowd is that it’s pretty spot on for how IT people act with each other. It’s hyperbolic for sure but I felt like it was the most authentic representation of tech people in the media.

I also thought the joke was about fragile masculinity… but I can see it being off putting anyways and I’m open to being wrong.
Nate Cox@programming.devto Technology@lemmy.world•Have you tried Jolla phone? Is it really a good alternative to iPhones/Android phones?English431·12 days agoAdditional information
Your purchase includes a 12-month Sailfish OS full license subscription valued at €59.88 (€4.99/month), granting access to all releases, commercial components, and feature upgrades. After the first year, you can choose to continue your subscription and support Sailfish OS development further. Even without renewal, your device will continue to function, but future software updates and commercial component upgrades will not be available.
Subscription pricing for security updates kinda sucks.
That… that is the punchline. It being the same punchline is the punchline of this joke. It’s commentary as humor.

Why are you attacking me?

It’s to do with the fact that it’s owned by the same few people”English21·1 month agoThe irony of choosing the most pedantic way of saying that they’re not pedantic is pretty amusing though.

Illegal or not, seems pretty obvious to me that people saying illegal in this thread and others probably mean “unethically”… which is pretty clearly true.

It’s totally legal because workers have surprisingly few rights in the US today. You can still find good companies that will treat you with dignity but it’s not because they’re required to.
Safari definitely gets more hate than it deserves. I find it to be perfectly acceptable.
I would prefer more competition though, even though I know today it’ll be a ton of “cram some AI into it” slop.

During manufacturing the glass can take on stress that is not visible but is a ticking time bomb. Temperature differential alone can push that stress past its breaking point.

I know this only because I spent way too long trying to figure out why older games look like ass on the LG haha.
Depends on your tv a bit. 30fps is fine on my steam deck, but on my LG OLED the response rate is too damn fast and 30fps looks choppy and terrible.
SV is too real. I was close to Bay Area tech when I was watching it, and that show hit too close to home sometimes.
IT crowd maintains a humorous distance from the really shitty parts of tech and I’m here for it.
