So I was the pied piper on the weekend and took a troop of kids to see the Minecraft Movie. It was an experience.
The movie itself was pretty typical middle-aged kids’ fare. Fairly awful dialogue and cliched characters. Jason Moama was a surprise, I thought Jack Black was the only famous star in it. I have a feeling that in the right role, Jason would have some wonderful comedy chops. This movie was not it. Stiffler’s Mum was funny, but all I could see was Stiffler’s Mum. I think the two female leads were great and a good foil for the Jack Black/Jason Moama antics. Pity the girls didn’t really have a lot to do in the plot.

If I’d been watching it on Blu Ray or streaming, I might have turned it off. As a movie, it’s not great. However, watching it in a cinema on opening weekend in a room full of kids really made it wonderful. They were cheering at obvious fan-service references that I didn’t get. Screaming out at “Chucky Chicken!” and I can’t remember other bits. But you get the idea. The energy in the room was great.

So while I didn’t particularly love the movie, I loved the experience of watching it.

I loved seeing Uncharted at the movies, the audience had a great time and their joy was infectious. It was a fun movie for fans and I enjoyed it too. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. 🙂

I hated the Uncharted movie but probably because I have the background of playing all the games.

The casting of it was so badly wrong, Tom Holland was the wrong choice and the way the movie went didn’t appeal to me as it was a mishmash of the 4 Uncharted Games.

It’s just had its standard overnight restart, when it booted up this morning there was no colour. I assumed there was an update installed overnight which changed the default settings.

I also found out the few people using linux in head office were asked to switch back to Windows. Because work offers no support, you were given root access and could just sudo anything onto your computer you’d like.

Sounds sick but that’s exactly why they’ve backflipped on this

What’s your most hated font? Every time I come across a document or email in Arial I just want to change it right away. It’s so bland.

    Fretting

Haven’t been able to sort out a lift for the appointments yet. I hope I can soon because the dentist will be taking a break and the next available would be in June.

I’m a bit worried about Melbcat because she has some signs of being unwell still and is chugging unusual amounts of water.

If need be I’ll book a home vet visit, it just means I need to clean up after letting things slide for almost a week. I’ve handballed the slimy dishes to Midea on the hottest setting. At the moment I don’t care if I have to redo them later. I just need clean enough.

Goodnight all! I have laundered and tidied, worked, shopped, cooked dinner, tidied up afterwards and am officially retreating to my room for the alone time my introverted soul needs. Will most likely pretend I’m going to buy a house and check out property listings before falling asleep. 🥱😴

    Dishwasher boogaloo

Ok. Two runs through the dishwasher didn’t clean things well, most noticeably the cutlery.

So I’ve removed all dishes and the rack. Took out the bottom grill and filter, disassembled everything for a scrub with a child’s toothbrush and rinsed. Every single hole or outlet has been cleaned with a pipe cleaner. The outlet hose was removed and had water run through it to confirm it wasn’t blocked, then reattached and the metal ring retightened.

I’ve started it empty with no soap and watched water flow unimpeded out of all the holes. No loss of pressure. Light bubbling of the water. I have the hose in a cup to catch some for whisking after.

And if this troubleshooting doesn’t work I’m tempted to put Midea out on her lazy arse. I haven’t really found this machine to be helpful. On top of the expense it’s mostly been a massive hassle and dragged chores out.

Added to that I’ve found cockroaches love the moisture and some are nesting behind it. It’s very easy to spill water while filling so you would have to move the heavy bulk and wipe the drips behind every time, and there’s not much you can do about having to leave the door open after use.

I seriously regret the purchase. It isn’t suiting my needs and I don’t like it.

Yeah I don’t get it. Either the reviews were padded or I got a lemon.

I went to go leave a review and they’re no longer being sold there so that’s weird

I was lucky, someone came today and the vet was able to squeeze Melbcat in during that time. Waiting on another culture and she’s getting some extra tlc.
