You see, the ACA is based on a plan that was put forth by the Heritage Foundation. Since it’s not AIPAC, I’ll have to let you know what that is too. The Heritage Foundation is a republican think tank. They tell republicans (and centrist democrats) what their policies are.
Because the ACA originally contained a public option, that was the Democrat plan.
And the democratic caucus killed the public option without republicans getting involved.
