To this day I can’t believe how Microsoft got away with disposable batteries for so long
Honestly I prefer them to non-removable ones because I use rechargeable batteries. Just bought a bunch like 10 years ago and cycle them out: they’re still going strong between a bunch of different devices.
I did the same but I noticed that rechargeable batteries have a much smaller capacity than the regular AA, it basically became such a chore that I ended up buying another controller with built in battery.
IMO they should give you rechargeable batteries out of the box that get recharged by the controller itself, that way at least your not losing any functionality
At least their controllers were pretty energy efficient. The controllers for a Quest also use AA batteries, but they drain those fuckers in like half an hour.

False. The remote in the picture uses AAA batteries, and the controller takes bigger AA.
I’ve only ever had to do this for a vibrator
