i’ve been doing so many reCaptchas over the years and I have noticed there are far too many people in tropical places who wear thongs while riding a motorcycle

Funny sort of an evening. Started with, I think I’ll finish that little bit of cleaning… Next thing I know I’m behind the bloody washing machine. Late dinner out and now it’s past my bedtime and I’m still out… Thank goodness tomorrow is my Friday…

day 5, had to drive with the corset; let’s just say the loaner car is too low… but yea excited to get the dashcam and boot protector installed, my cupboard didn;t turn up today…

williamstown enterance to the west gate this morning was shit. the car was moving around 1km an hour, turns out becos it was a one-lane-only entrance everyone has using the second lane to cut in. best part was I used a side road to exit and there is a “keep clear” box outside this side road, had to loudly horn at someone who was cutting in. smh

The pain is better today took a nice afternoon sleep. yea, these days I’ve been sleeping a lot, resting a lot. some said no housework but having both of us having back issues, someone has to do it lol, but really taking it easy. might attempt t go to the city on Friday for the footy as well as on Saturday to go to the finders market with a friend. definitely weaning myself off endone. will attempt med-free sleep tonight.

    weather is too cold…

I have made the fatal mistake of finishing all of my travel preparations and there’s still 40 days to go. I’m ready now, damn it.

I’m so jelly. Will this be your first road trip in the US? I’ve been on two short ones, Detroit to Kenosha and Detroit to Manhattan, and I think my fave thing was the beautiful countryside and the pretty small towns.

I did a little bit of driving on my last trip over there in 2012, mostly over on the east coast too. Buffalo up to Niagara Falls, Toronto then down to Manhattan. I did a bit more driving down in Florida too. This will be for sure a more scenic road trip though! All of my US trips in the past have been focused on the cities and/or amusement park locations but this time I’m hitting a buuunnch of national parks. Then cap it off with some downtime in Vegas to just chill out, eat edibles, go to the movies, whatever. So pumped.

I’m hoping I don’t feel as shit about work tomorrow. I have some big thinking and planning to do for myself I feel like I could really use a week off. I’ve written down a list of stuff that I need to do including routine medical checkups that I’ve been procrastinating on. I don’t know how so many things have crept up on me. Adult life I guess. Just as you feel like you got life sorted, another bunch of problems or life admin stuff comes up. Sigh.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had fennel bulbs but damn I’d forgotten how unbelievably good they are roasted. The air fryer is far too filthy to use right now but I’d love to try it in there

Slice thinly across the grain and dress with olive oil/lemon etc. for a salad. I’m not a fan of them cooked - don’t like the taste. Raw, they are nice and crunchy and refreshing in a salad with an aniseedy bite to them. Slices can be quick pickled and are wonderful with practically anything. Can be used as a celery substitute in almost any recipie I believe (except mirepoix but that may be just me). The green fronds can be used instead of dill, but will taste of aniseed. Pretty though.

I just roasted them and tossed them through with pasta. They go wonderfully with capers or lemon and maybe some zucchini or red capsicum.

I have two twitter accounts that I linked a thousand years ago. I never ended up using twitter so the accounts just sit there. I went to go delete them, as my little ‘fuck you’ to Muck, but it wants my password… as if I’m going to remember a password I used 10 years ago.

Anyway, I changed my usernames to variations of ‘elon suck my dick’ and now I’m going to troll his tweets until I get banned. Stupid fuck.

    Wish me luck!

Edit: give me some more people to insult on twitter, I’m trying to nuke these. Im on that moron Jordan Petersons twitter atm

hehe I got restricted to read-only because I told him to do a very bad thing to himself that I won’t repeat here.

But that was after I kept tweeting Elon calling him the awful slur

        cis

        and

, and repeatedly called him a

bc he didnt ban me immediately lol.

I may have gotten carried away with Jackoff .B Penison 😬 😬

In today’s instance of messed up dreams, I had a very vivid and lengthy one about an insane weather event where BOM predicted it would go down to -26 and -28 in Melbourne over the weekend (just the weekend!) and the forecast recommended in the strongest terms that everybody stay indoors as much as possible. Then in the dream I went to the DT and everyone was losing their shit and people were sharing info of which supermarkets still had stock of anything and locations of official “cold shelters” operated by councils for people to take refuge in if needed. The Alps were being evacuated and there was talk of crop failures and potential deaths in the thousands. It was very real in my head.

It wasn’t even that cold this morning!

For a $500k property to be bought some time in the next few months, is it really true the monthly mortgage repayment is starting at like $3500?

Yeah, I had seen both. But they varied quite a bit, most of the banks I looked at was 3.5k, while realestate said 2.4k lol.

Well, a good idea would be to try to get pre-approval. The bank will tell you what your lending capacity is and give you an interest rate they’ll charge. Of course, you should really be prepared for that to go up to 7 or 8% in the next couple of months or even more next year and think seriously about whether you can shoulder those increases.

So I’m on a bus and I’m reflecting on the fact that while seatbelts are compulsory in cars, on a bus you’ve really only got your prayers 🙏.

If it makes you feel better, busses have more mass so are inherently safer. The no seatbelts thing is so you don’t have to fiddle with it in a panic and delay evacuating the bus.

Uncanny that a truck T boned a Bus today in Mornington Peninsula. One kid on the bus had lots of teeth knocked out.
