They still do a good job with build quality and I use them for work. I also use framework 13 as my personal computer, it is great and I like it but it does not feel as premium as my work laptop. It is probably a trade off for modularity though
My honest opinion is it is a nice Arch based distro with a gui installer

Also the more attacks there are the more vulnerabilities found and get fixed. I think in the long run it helps the platform to mature and be more stable.
No DE just swaywm, I think you can benefit from window managers like i3 or sway for low resource utilization

I don’t. Since the beginning of this month, I only visited it 2 times where a Google search pointed out a post there, that is it. And even when it pop ups on the Google search result I tend to first check out other links.

I am using Mlem, which is still in beta and still missing some features, but I like the direction it is going and most importantly it is not a cross platform app so the UI and gestures already fit well with the iOS ecosystem
I recently got the 8bitdos new 2.4ghz controller (the cheap one) and so far happy with it, just needed to make sure a had the correct drivers for it
I think you can use usbip to share any usb device that is connected on your linux desktop to steam deck (or any other pc) over the same network.
I initially switched because I felt like it had better support for linux and specifically wayland. Then stayed for other features that are mostly mentioned in other comments.
