At the same, does “painting our selfs into a corner” loose having true ending to stories?

Constraints and limitations drive creativity, but you have accept a final product at some point and move to another universe/story.

No need to put homelab in quotes, it’s whatever is your lab. We all have different setups that grow and shrink as we learn.

Let me show you a smaller option than a full rack amp. I used this exact setup before except using an AirPort Express instead of the pi.

Since this is in Homelab, I’m assuming you have access to a 19” rack. You could rack mount any amplifier (I like crown amps personally) and then feed either a Bluetooth or Raspberry Pi using a line/headphone amp. That also gives you the ability to continuing adding amps to feed more speakers around the house. That’s my homelab answer.

Home theater answer would be to look at a home theater receiver.

What I wish it had was something similar to Roon which would be a Spotify integration. If I search for something and I don’t have it in my personal library, let me just stream it from my streaming service subscription.

We just turn them sideways on a shelf at work. We use a lot of micro form factor and they look slick in a row on a 1u shelf. We fit 3 or 4 (can’t remember) wide across 6 shelves.

A use it with web development by describing what I want something to look like and have it generate a React component based on my description.

Is what it gives me the final product? Sometimes, but it’s such a help to knock out a bunch of boilerplate and get me close to what I want.

Also generating documentation is nice. I wanted to fill out some internal wiki articles to help people new to the industry have something to reference. Spent maybe an hour having a conversation asking all of the questions I normally run into. Cleaned up the GPT text, checked for inaccuracies, and cranked out a ton of resources. That would have taken me days, if not weeks.

At the end of the day, GPT is better with words than I am, but it doesn’t have the years of experience I have.

I did a preorder bundle probably 5-6 years ago. Even with all of the absolute insane bugs and barely anything to do I feel I at least got my moneys worth of enjoyment.

It’s not direct no, the concern I have regarding Meta’s algorithm stems from their size. By being so large, what is popular on Meta’s side would spill over. And I feel the way Meta shapes conversations through their algorithms always ends up in the most dumb and harmful content.

I’m honestly just kinda hoping it won’t be me scrolling on Lemm.ee and all the sudden see the type of shit I can view on Facebook because one person went and visited a Thread made up of Instagram users who just got enrolled in “the new Twitter”.

But yes, it would be the ability for Meta to drown out and saturate content. It would start all nice and friendly between Meta and the rest. But Meta has to Meta and slowly start pumping things to drive eyes to a way that makes them money.

What I really don’t like is how it seems all of these recent corporate decisions are based on a companies viewing ANY eyeballs that are not looking at their content is a threat that has to be taken out. The sheer entitlement to a human being time. To go out of your way because you feel that they are costing you money because they don’t want to play with you.

At one point when I first started learning Linux I ran a tiny Minecraft server. I really struggled with always giving way too much benefit of doubt. I felt like I had to build a case to defend my position but keep moving the goalposts on myself. I really struggled with one kid who hadn’t really done anything wrong but just wasn’t fitting the vibe of the community.

So that is something I’m conscientious about now that I am older.

I’m not really worried too much about traffic as this would be an industry specific community. I work in television broadcasting and would love to make a place for other people in the industry to hang out.

I’m really thinking about reaching out to the Reddit mods of similar subreddits to see if there is any plans for more to move. This would be for a very niche career field (Television Broadcast).
