Lol this really sucks for Plex users, but I’m glad I left that steaming pile of shit software. I’ve been using Jellyfin for two years now and have never had to deal with sudden new shitty default-on features that appear from out of nowhere. Not once. With Plex, that happened like every other release. I don’t miss it.

That is really cool and looks incredibly cozy, especially this time of year. Part of me wants to try this with space heaters mounted into the wall for a more immersive experience, but I’m realizing as I type this out that I don’t need another stupid way to for me to burn down the house.
Because everyone knows only terrorists take hostages, so using the term to describe one side tells the public who to think is the terrorist side without having to actually say it.

Also had ostrich burgers a couple of times. I’m told I was shitfaced and enjoyed them immensely, but I couldn’t tell you for sure, for I was shitfaced.
You might have figured it out by now, but “megabits per second” is abbreviated as “Mbps” with an uppercase m; yeah, it’s kinda pedantic, but using lowercase means it’s a millibit, which is much, much smaller. The same applies to “gigabits per second,” which should be expressed as “Gbps.”
At any rate, thank you for posting this, it really is good news. And about time they did this, too.

Hi Margot, that’s an interesting observation. Those kind of artifacts have been associated with the big screen for so long that they keep persisting in the public consciousness, even though digital production is now the norm. I think we forget sometimes that these were not stylistic choices but the result of the limitations of film equipment. Nostalgia can be a weird intoxicating thing, I wonder if we’ll ever feel the same way about AM radio?
Oh, and I’m sorry to do the “akshually” thing, but adjusts glasses some directors have been known to shine flashlights into the camera while filming to create intentional lens flare effects. So, like, it does happen in the film industry too. Sorry, wasn’t going for a “gotcha” moment… I akshually did have to adjust my glasses just now and felt obligated.

3·9 months agoHuh, I think this might be one of those unique Kbin things. We have an image upload feature that treats it sorta like an attachment; it doesn’t embed the image in the comment, rather it appends the image at the end of the comment.

I just read that README, quite sobering. Now I’m thinking of bus scenario backup plans. Like, there’s stuff that is eventually gonna stop working if left unattended too long, and you just assume you’re gonna be around to maintain it, you know?
