Surprised not to see Horizon Zero Dawn/ Forbidden West on this list! Have you played them?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why is the beginning on the left and the end on the right?
2·7 days agoAbsolutely. If you learn about visual hierarchy in design, one of the first things that you learn is that those who have language that read from left to right will instinctively look at the top left, across, and top to bottom, in kind of an “F” pattern.

Games@lemmy.world•Meta progression in roguelites was fun for a while, but it's starting to feel unrewardingEnglish
2·9 days agoBut Scylla and the Sirens featuring Charybdis doesn’t feel as different to me as say the Collector vs the Champ. I like the randomness and didn’t realize until this comment- though you could argue the music for the Scylla fight is random at least!

4·10 days agoYou just made me appreciate Slay the Spire more with the boss choices for each act. I didn’t realize until this comment how refreshing that is. Even Hades 1 had some variety in the first two boss fights (which fury was showing up, what kind of heads Lernie had…)

Work Reform@lemmy.world•Nurses Get Bitten, Spat on, Thrown. That’s Why We’re on Strike.
5·10 days agoIts usually patients, they often don’t have full capacity (either altered for organic underlying reasons, or substance use, etc…) and usually for that reason it goes unreported.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Reading is powerfully and subtley consciousness-altering. For good and bad.
8·1 month agoReading is allowing someone’s thoughts directly into your brain. You’re letting me transmit my thoughts to you right now.

14·2 months agoWow. I watched the clip and it was worse than I thought it would be. If you follow the links, do yourself a favour and skip the YouTube comment section.
Bleak take. I thought it was about gratitude and reframing.
Sorry, it was a joke to show off a goofy-looking snake. I’m pretty sure their eyes are actually positioned like that because they are fossorial, I don’t think snakes rely on their eyesight much at all.
But the Arabian sand boa is well known to be the most predatory of snakes:

ETA: This is a joke. I don’t think there is a “most predatory snake” (though I guess you could argue that egg-eaters are least predatory?). I just like their goofy faces.

3·2 months agoI know people are doubting this happened but I’m pretty sure it’s a symptom of paranoid schizophrenia to think that one’s electronics are trying to speak to you.
Doesn’t sound like a good work environment anyway. That sucks, man.

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female Pokémon...
35·4 months agoSigh. Vaporeon had someone all hot and bothered and they posted a lengthy diatribe on why and it became a meme.
ETA: The pokemon in the picture, Eevee, turns into Vaporeon with the help of a water stone.
Wait until she hears about sriracha mayo.
In interviews he’s said how we are the messed up ones for finding it gross. Something along the lines of “everyone is fine with the child murders but somehow the sex scene is wrong”.
I’ve reread it a couple times but skip over that scene.
Oooh yeah I would definitely invest in a personal chef

Most honorable? Just tell them you made a stupid mistake. You don’t need to share the details. Will they talk? Sure. But you don’t need to share if you don’t want to.
Least shameful? You were mistaken for someone else who made a stupid mistake and didn’t have your ID on you. They let you go when they realized you weren’t who they thought.
