“A joint roach got its name after famous stoner Tommy Chong got so high he tried to smoke a cockroach.”
I asked an ai to summarize the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. It started awwsome and then spiraled into flat out wrong info and backwars plot points. I then asked it what media it was released on. They listed the wrong director and a sequel that did not exist. Skipped the third book.
Mostly harmless.
This should be in /wholesome as presumably the OP had a cockroach friend they wanted to house in their penis (foreskin would be way safer tbh).
This is some AI shit if I’ve ever heard it, or I should say llm shit if I have ever heard it. Llm models are not AI they are bullshit and we should all shun them.
You don’t think this is faked, or the prompt heavily massaged to give this response? You really just jumping straight to “yes, this is obviously real and evidence for why AI is bad”?
When AI Overview was in beta in May 2023, it was really bad. Infamous example:

People milked it for memes. But at some point, Google fixed it, so to keep farming engagement, people had to start making fake screenshots and pretended that they were real.
And it’s really easy to fake:

Even easier, right-click, inspect element, edit, screenshot
Have you ever interacted with AI?
LLMs are not capable of generating factual information. That’s not how the technology works. It’s never been how the technology works. It objectively cannot ever work that way.
It’s just ‘hallucinations.’ It is glorified autocorrect. Yes, it is easy to believe a trained autocorrect generated this paragraph. It seems like each word/phrase token is the most likely thing after the last one, given the total information shown. It is exactly what I, or anyone that has been made to suffer AI usage, expects from AI.
Google has become useless, and few search engines still use search term ranking thanks to AI fucking the brains of every single person in the tech industry.
Have you interacted with AI in the past two years?
Of course LLMs are capable of generating factual information. An LLM wouldn’t lie if you asked “is the earth round?”. But an LLM won’t generate factual information every time, because as much as the technology is getting hyped up, it’s still quite limited and probably will be for the foreseeable future.
But when the answer is obvious and well-known, they are good enough. Just pop OP’s question into any chatbot. They all, including Google’s AI overview, give “no” here.
A state-of-the-art glorified autocorrect will not send “Absolutely!” as the first few tokens after “can cockroaches live in your penis”. That’s GPT-2 level stuff.
I agree with your last point about Google Search’s decline.
This might be fake but goddammit it’s still funny.
that’s right. it’s your butthole they crawl into and lay eggs. It’s why sometimes when you fart moths come out
they’re called cock roaches because fuck you in the ass
This post is a few years old, and was disproven as a fake anti AI post. No surprise this misinformation is doing well on Lemmy
i’m trying to count my negatives… it was proven as an AI post?
Nope.
i never said i was good at counting. i’m just a musician. well, a percussionist.
This sounds like some llm bullshit to me. You might think it’s fake and maybe it is, but this is the exact type of shit these large language models push on us. So either way I’m for this post and against you. The word to text keeps changing everything I say to LOL, a phrase I never fucking used ever ever I fucking hate it and I’ve hated it for like fucking decades.
I ended this paragraph with hitting it for decades and they added in LOL even still. I must have Gremlins inside my phone. Which is why we all need to switch to graphene OS.
“I don’t care if it’s propaganda! I don’t care if it’s proven to be made up! It suits my narrative, so it’s real to me!!!”
Bro this is in /funny not /legitimate-criticisms-of-ai. When someone posts an image of SpongeBob with a funny caption do you get on there saying “well actually SpongeBob never said that, not surprised this anti-SpongeBob propaganda is doing well on Lemmy”
Not hard to do either, just open dev console and edit the html.
I was wondering if this was for real or not still hilarious as fuck though
Not real. Even though I’m getting downvoted lol
I think we all know that the accuracy of your statement is not what’s getting downvoted.
Nah, I’m with them. The average Lemmy user is stupid as fuck and willing to believe anything that even vaguely conforms to their biases, and I 100% believe the majority of upvotes are from people who thought this screenshot is real.
Several weeks ago, there was this post in a news community to a BBC News article. It was a real article; no tricks, correct headline. But the link was a 404. When I found it, it was upvoted about 20–0. I downvoted it as obviously nonfunctional but also commented remarking that it’s a 404 and giving the OP the correct link. When I came back to that post a couple hours later hoping to upvote a fixed link, the link was unchanged, it was upvoted 50–1 (my downvote), and it had one comment (mine) upvoted 1–0. (Edit: I checked, to preemptively clarify, that this wasn’t a “me” problem.)
The lack of scrutiny Lemmy applies as a collective is fucking appalling, and the level of introspection they have about it is somehow even worse.
I get the frustration and I don’t think it’s fair to downvote somebody just because they don’t conform to your opinion.
But with the overhyped shitshow LLMs have been so far, I also understand the hate against them. I mean, while not being real, this screenshot seems quite believable, because any user has seen something like this already.
No, but it is fair to downvote people that are too stupid to recognize clearly fake shit. If you honestly think this post is believable… fucking christ… Do people not use their heads anymore
I agree and I’ve noticed it it’s gotten worse over the past 6 months. I figured there was another reddit exodus.
so, this kind of shit stirring happens regularly on the english speaking internet before US elections. I’ve become less and less convinced it’s organic.
Oh so you’ve noticed the uptick in “don’t vote” posts, too?
If it’s something they don’t want to hear or requires effort to confirm, downvote!
reported because shut up :3
This but instead of “Lemmy user” it’s “person”.
Meh. It’s worth noticing that, in the modern era, everything is an echo chamber. All the more reason to socialize in person and reduce interactions in semi anonymous places like Lemmy, Reddit, etc
Hot
Fake: google AI did not just say “penis hole.”
Gay: they said “penis hole.”
Google fuken be trollin us all, now.
A cock roaches into a bar.
He asks for tender.
All he gets is lead.
